A hat-trick for Vincent Genest

Montréal, August 3, 2016 - Vincent Genest, recipient of the 2014 Carl Herz Prize, has recently been awarded three national accolades for his PhD thesis entitled “Algebraic Structures, Superintegrable Systems and Orthogonal Polynomials,” completed in 2015 at the Université de Montréal under the supervision of Luc Vinet.

After being awarded the Governor General’s Academic Gold Medal in early June, Vincent was presented with the 2016 joint award of the Winnipeg Institute for Theoretical Physics and the Canadian Association of Physicists for the best thesis in theoretical physics. To top it all, the Canadian Mathematical Society has recently awarded him its 2016 Doctoral Prize.

Vincent is currently Instructor in Pure Mathematics and NSERC postdoctoral fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT, Boston, MA)
