Résumé / Abstract

Some Mathematical Problems related to Phase Transitions
Gradient theory of phase transitions has been studied extensively in last thirty years, particularly in connection with minimal surfaces and motions by mean curvatures. In this talk I will discuss some progresses in answering some foundamental questions related to this theory, including the solutions to the Gibbons conjecture and the De Giorgi conjecture. These conjectures concern the basic configurations of states near phase interfaces.
