Transport

Montréal is served by one major airport (Montréal-Trudeau). The airport bus will get you downtown for $13.00. A taxi from the airport to downtown or to the campus of the Université de Montréal will cost around $30. Public transportation is by far the cheapest way to get downtown: take city bus no 221 from Dorval Train Station to Métro Lionel-Groulx; cost: $2.50.

From downtown Montréal to the Université de Montréal campus, you can take a cab (about $15.00) or the Métro for $2.50 a ticket. Exit the Métro at the Université de Montréal Station (blue line). Then take the moving ramp to the campus, located at the top of the hill. For those who will stay in the conference hotels, it is recommended to get to the campus by Bus 165 or 535 (these buses ride on Guy street which turns into Côte-des-Neiges). By exiting at “Queen Mary Road” and “Côte-des-Neiges,” a nice five-minute walk will take you to campus. The building “Pavillon André-Aisenstadt” is located west of the main building “Pavillon Roger-Gaudry” (formerly called “Pavillon Principal”).

If you are driving, take the Décarie Expressway (Highway 15) and exit at “Chemin Queen Mary Road.” Travel east on “Chemin Queen Mary Road.” The campus entrance is at the corner of Decelles Street (one block east of “Chemin Côte-des-Neiges”). It will cost you $11/day to park your car on campus. Be aware that street parking is at a premium around campus.
