I am an adjunct professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering of Université Laval and McMaster University and an associate member of the Centre de Recherches Mathématiques de l'Université de Montreéal.

I am presently a Defence Scientist (Level 5) for the Defence Research and Development Canada at Valcartier.

I was previously a Senior Member of Engineering for 10 years in the R&D Department of Lockheed Martin Canada (formerly Loral Canada, Unisys GSG and Paramax) as an Advisory Member of R&D.

I have co-organized the 4th International Conference on Information Fusion FUSION 2001 held in August 2001.

My interests include, amongst others:

• hiking in the Northeastern and Southwestern USA,

  the sunny warm tropical Islands of (mostly Kauai, Maui and the Big Island)

  and the rocks, snow and ice of the French

• nature photography, both regular, panorama and stereoscopic (slides),

• and beer tasting (I have a huge collection of empty bottles from around the world!)

Here is an example of Lockheed technology, namely the SR-71 "Blackbird", the world's fastest aircraft (> Mach 3) with a ceiling of 85,000 feet. The photo was taken at the PIMA Air Museum in Tucson, AZ.

Some other facts of my life are:

• My passion for photography is satisfied though several media, including
  • a Sony Handicam 72X for videos,
  • a Sony 5 Megapixel Cybershot, light for hiking, and
  • a Canon EOS Digital for serious photograpy (8 1/2 x 11 or larger prints)

• I have a sports car fetish which I've cured with a Nissan 350Z Touring 2003, "Le Mans Sunset" color

  

  (replacing my old 300ZX 2+2 bought in 1992) and a 2010 red garnet pearl effect Audi A4 Turbo Quattro 2.0T, which is remarkably versatile in winter.
