Workshop on Topology of Manifolds and Group Actions
August 20-24, 2001
Centre de recherches mathematiques
Universite de Montreal

Dear Participant,

We would like to remind you that the Workshop on Topology of Manifolds and Group Actions will be held at the Centre de recherches mathematiques (CRM), August 20-24, 2001. You will find the program below.

The CRM is located on the 5th floor of the building officially called Pavillon Andre-Aisenstadt on the campus of the Universite de Montreal. The lectures will be held in room 6214 (6th floor, Andre-Aisenstadt building). Registration will take place on Monday, August 20, from 8:45 am to 9:30 am, in room 5345 (5th floor, Andre-Aisenstadt). Information will be available daily in room 5345, from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

Montreal is served by one major airport (Dorval). The airport bus is the cheapest way to get downtown ($12.50).

From downtown Montreal to the Université de Montréal campus, you can take a taxi (about $15.00) or the Metro (subway) for $2.00 a ticket. Exit the Metro at the Université de Montréal Station (blue line). Then take the moving ramp to the campus. The building "Pavillon André-Aisenstadt" is located west of the main building "Pavillon Principal". A campus map is available at the following web site:
http://www.umontreal.ca/plancampus/index.html

If you are driving, take the "Decarie" Expressway (Highway 15) and exit at "Chemin Queen Mary Road". Travel east on "Chemin Queen Mary Road". When you cross Decelles Street (one street east of "Chemin Côte-des-Neiges") you enter the campus of the Université de Montréal. It is difficult to park on the streets surrounding the campus. However for the price of $9 per day, you can use campus parking lots (not including special permit areas).

For local information please consult the Web site maintained by the Centre de recherches mathematiques (CRM) of the Universite de Montreal: http://www.crm.umontreal.ca
and the Montreal Official Tourist Information Web Site:

If you need further details we will be pleased to help.

We look forward to seeing you!
