The role of integrable systems - Workshop dedicated to John Harnad
December 5-9, 2022

The role of Integrable Systems in the last several decades has been pivotal in many areas of mathematical physics that touch upon a wide span of topics from string theory, geometry of moduli spaces, combinatorics, stochastic processes, random matrices, to name a few.

The goal of the workshop is to bring together many of the actors in this area to also celebrate the long and illustrious career of John Harnad (CAP-CRM Prize 2006), whose scientific production made fundamental contribution in gauge theory, classical Integrable Systems as well as quantum ones, the theory of isomonodromic deformations (as the nowadays known" Harnad duality"), random matrices, and most recently novel insights in the theory of the combinatorics of Hurwitz numbers and generalizations thereof.
