The CRM Lie Theory Conference is expected to bring together active researchers from nearby Québec and Ontario universities to take part in a day of lectures and discussions of interest to the regional Lie theory community (interpreted broadly). The conference will feature three 1-hour lectures, with a schedule that permits same-day travel to and from Montréal for students and professors based at universities in eastern Ontario, central Québec, and upstate New York. Lie theory is interdisciplinary by nature, and this conference will feature three seminar-style talks by researchers working in Lie theory related to mathematical physics (including vertex algebras, geometric representation theory, and Temperley-Lieb algebras). A second conference in this series is planned for October 3, 2020, with a focus on combinatorial aspects of Lie theory.
